Songwriter Showcase

Come hear original music in a casual, intimate setting.  Three imaginative, passionate people on the stage taking turns pouring their hearts out in song. They may even talk a little about what compels them to do such a thing, which is something I always wonder about. $5. Bring your own refreshments. Don't miss it! This week's songwriters:

Singer-songwriter Amy Spillert captures stories of the sea & nature, history & folktales, love & friendship in her original songs, that frequently draw from the North Shore area she calls home.

Charles Silbert Charles began writing and recording folk and alternative rock songs during college and recorded music back in the day using an 8  track cassette as well as performing at open mic nights.  In recent years he has gotten into musical theater as well as occasional drumming for a local childrens’ theater company.  Charles plays a bit of everything, drums, guitar, piano, and bass and recently has taken to dabbling in poetry and incorporating that into song writing, mostly from his new piano some local friends gave him about a year ago. He is looking to take it to the next level with all the current digital recording available, and perhaps put together a band now that his daughters are growing up and he now has a little more downtime in his life.   Max (aka lefty) writes intimate acoustic rock music with a focus on ever-changing emotional melodies backed by ethereal chords and progressions. With song themes ranging from love to loss and loneliness. Incorporating poetic and conversation style lyrics into the mix.
